Xavier Lafitte

"My creations humbly attempt to keep us as close as possible to the beauty of Creation, to what we must protect, and thus to continue to weave a powerful link to the Sacred. In my opinion, it is about maintaining an intimate relationship with Life."

Born in Paris in 1974, Xavier Lafitte grew up in Brittany where, in addition to his academics, he remained committed to dance, music and drawing, from a very young age. He graduated from business school in 1996, having also attending two exchange programs in Spain and the US, visiting galleries and museums, that offered him many opportunities to educate his eye and creative ambition.

After his Military Service, Xavier worked several years, as he continued his growing interest in a creative and diverse artistic lifestyle, studying at the prestigious Ecole du Louvre, including the ambitious and successful work that came from his career as an actor (more than forty roles at cinema, tv and stage). During all of these accomplishments, he never left writing and drawing.

He has created series of drawings and collages over the past twenty-five years (such as “Wildlife Calendar” and “Bâmiyân”).

Since the end of the 90’s, he has grown passionate about environmental issues, it is only in 2014 when he created the «Wildlife Calendar» series.

Theses drawings revealed a long creative process, being his most intimate and emblematic.

2015 was a turning point with Xavier’s first exhibition in Paris. Others followed in Paris and all regions in France. In 2019, he created a colored mural painting of whale and stork migrations, in St Benoit schoolyard (Paris VI), as he has the honor to be selected for the maison Hermès international scarf design competition.

2023 & 2024 saw eight exhibitions, developing the of installation artwork for airports hubs, illustrations for editing projects, also the launch of the Wildlife Calendar Tour 2025: to persue the message of theses drawings by transforming a boat into an art gallery, following the migration birds path from Scandinavia to West Africa, pulling into port where conferences are organized with local scientists and wildlife protection associations, on the topic of the pressing necessity to protect migrations (dossier on demand).
